Corrado Di Roma, a Roman History Professor at Sapienza University of Rome, is leading the charge to discover burial remains from the family members of the House of Julii to validate a bone fragment suspected to be from Consul Gaius Julius Caesar. Shortly after starting the project, Corrado is relentlessly haunted in both the dream world and the waking world. Although his paranormal experiences provide Corrado with key clues that aid in his discoveries, he finds the encounters to be physically and emotionally draining as the specters manifest themselves into Corrado’s waking world. Corrado, desperate to understand what these apparitions want him from him, feeling trapped in an ever-growing paranormal labyrinth, confides in his long-time graduate student for help. Corrado and Regina, now spending more and more time together, find themselves becoming ever more attached to one another, becoming inseparable. Corrado leads his band of loyal research students from ancient site to ancient site, while continually haunted along the path, following their mystical and powerful clues across lands once occupied by the might of the Roman Empire. What do they want from the Professor? Where are they leading him? What will the Professor find? Only walking in the footsteps of time will answer those questions.
